Some Best Prayer , Poem And Songs Of Memorial Day --
soldiers prayer
Lover, loverReturn to me
Of you I can only dream
Don't let my heart
Break on it's seam
Don't let the enemy
Steal my dream
Lover, lover
Please be safe
Remember the life
That we made
Don't forget the things
That we do
My heart is forever waiting for you
Lover, Lover
Don't let go
My soul will shatter ever so
I know I can't forever grieve
If your soul begs to leave
Lover, Lover
Please be brave
I dare not grieve by your grave
Hear my plea on wind and tree
May the angels guide you
Back to me
Lover, Lover
May fortune grant this wish
Let it be forever so
Return to me I won't let go
If time calls and you must go
Wait for me by heaven's door
Lover, Lover
Be at peace
I pray for you upon my knees
Return to me be at ease
Let your heart find it's release

Old Soldier
Unnoticed, he blends into the grey park bench,
eyes clouded and watering,
permanent tears for friends lost in a trench
not quite enough of a life-time ago.
Will anyone acknowledge him?
Smile at him? Say hello?
How many people walk past without seeing?
Are they afraid to take a look
at their future being?
Can see past hands on a walking cane, shaking,
which once held arms straight, which killed
as he dreamed of his mother holding him
close in a muddy field in France, dug in,
his only perspective – the sky – looking up,
imagining his Victoria Cross moment,
which never came.
His history has died with those he has loved:
he exists alone now, his life stored in his head,
musty albums in an abandoned attic.
His film is ending, subtitles about to roll,
last moments of anticipation, will his story change
before the last curtain call?
Was he the star of his own show, his life?
Would that he had been so invisible then,
in that giant gutter, repelling the end
but now the magnet has turned,
death - an indecisive friend.
Ninety odd birthday's leave a stuttering heart
and a once-red poppy, grey.
On a bench, sad fingers trace the brass
in which his wife's name is interred
hearing aid off so his sweetheart's voice
can be clearly heard.
As there will be no 'hello' today.
That's all he wants.
A quiet hello.
So he knows he's not already a ghost.

WORLD WAR ONE ONE HUNDRED YEARS LATER
Patriotic songs give us reason to cheer
Except when “over there” is over here
Living underground is no place to cherish
Cause in this place , you could easily perish
You huddle in the trenches each day at dawn
Then over the top at the sound of the horn
The chatter of machine gun fire spills cross the plain
Your companions are dropping screaming with pain
You move rapidly as your pulse races
Only a fool would cross open spaces
After the charge there are agonizing cries
From wounded men slowly losing their lives
Unarmed medics venture into the strife
Feeling for pulses searching for life
Commanders gave orders for this type of fray
We need to get back what we lost yesterday
And so it goes swapping land for men’s lives
With this kind of lunacy no one survives
Neither side will consider the others petition
They’d rather continue this senseless attrition
Riddled with bullets then dumped in a trench
No time to collect name tags too odorous the stench
This young life extinguished ahead of its time
His uniform tarnished and covered with lime
A senseless deployment of each nations best
The reward for their bravery is eternal rest
Later that day when they call the roll
Few will be there maybe no one at all
Back home they’ll read his name in the square
Some will be crying in utter despair
Memorial Day 2016
A Story of an American Soldier
When I decided to become a soldier I took an oath,
The same oath every branch of military takes,
This oath that we freely take does not expire
Once we exit the military, it goes like this.
I do solemnly swear that I will support
And defend the Constitution of the United
States against all enemies foreign or domestic;
That I will bear true faith and allegiance to the
Same and that I will obey the Orders of the
President of the United States and the orders of
Officers appointed over me, according to the
Regulations and the Uniform Code of Military
Justice. So help me God.
-:-
Here is what you see in me as a solder.
There is discipline in me as a soldier
You can see in me when I walk;
I walk is a little taller now.
There is honor in all I do as a soldier
You hear it when I talk, listen to me.
There is a new found courage in me as a soldier
You can see it in my eye’s, there is no backing down.
There is something in me as a soldier
That make me stand apart from other men;
There is a new found strength in me as a soldier
That beats deep inside of my heart now!
A soldier isn’t the title of any man or woman
That can be hired to do, very few do so;
A soldier is the very soul of that man or woman
That is buried so deep inside of him.
A soldier is always a soldier even when time is done
He or she will never be able stand by when needed.
A soldier always serves his country first
The rest of his life he or she has to leave it all behind.
A soldier has to sacrifice what never
Come first into a civilian mind.
If you are a soldier I am saying this to you,
May God Bless and thank you for each and every soldier.
Because some gave it their all…
